July 4, 2010, the 234th anniversary of our independence, marks a very powerful day not only for the nation but for Indie Ambassador and Sidehatch. As we move our company, also deeply rooted in the independent spirit and DIY ethic, to the historic neighborhood of Charlestown, Massachusetts we stand in the shadow of some of the most significant historical markers of our nation. The Bunker Hill Monument commemorates the famous Battle of Bunker Hill; the USS Constitution, the oldest commissioned vessel in the US Navy, is docked next door in the Navy Yard, and Paul Revere’s famous “midnight ride” began here before the Battles of Lexington and Concord. We recently took over 1500 sq. feet of a factory floor and continue to transform it into a factory for rock and roll. Included in the space are the Sidehatch and Indie Ambassador labs, Strewnshank Studios, and an open event and art space. This new “bunker” will serve as a catalyst to our ambitious endeavors and give us the freedom to work, create, and explore like never before. Ben! Pictures of the renovations to follow!

Indie Ambassador gets a taste of Wall Street!

I am excited to announce that Indie Ambassador was recently voted as one of the top “100 Most Innovative Ventures of 2010” during the Kairos Society Global Summit, held at the New York Stock Exchange on April 17th, 2010. The Kairos Society is an international student-run non-profit foundation based in the United States. On Saturday, April 17th they hosted the second annual Global Summit, bringing together 500 of their top members alongside a group of the World’s most impactful leaders to discuss global issues as well as emerging opportunities for Kairos members to make a difference. We were invited to present Indie Ambassador directly on the trading floor, positioned alongside other great young ventures, including BPG Motors’ motorized skateboard, capable of towing 3K pounds, an all girls school in Afghanistan, as well as water purifying water bottles and analog cell phones capable of trading stocks. It was a terrific opportunity for us and we’re very excited to receive such a special and unexpected honor. Indie Ambassador was also mentioned as a “company to look out for” by The Campus Socialite. The article provides a bit more information about the Global Summit and the Kairos Society. In the future, we hope to continue participating in events such as these as we continue to develop the Indie Ambassador platform. Spending time with aspiring entrepreneurs and practicing our pitch and talking points with veterans in the industry is a lot of fun. Onwards and upwards, Ben!

PIEBALD: Bamboozle-Left and PRE-ORDERS!!

Piebald has been invited to play Bamboozle-Left at Anaheim Stadium, March 28th, 2010. This is a special, one of two performances that the band is doing in 2010. The guys have also confirmed to play May 2nd at the Bamboozle Festival at Giants Stadium in New Jersey! Apart from these shows, starting March 28th, 2010, we will open up pre-sales for the "Nobody's Robots - A Farewell To Piebald" DVD and documentary, featuring over 3 hours of footage and live concert rock and roll!

Boston punks, THE THICKNESS, take Karaoke to a new level!

Boston punks THE THICKNESS have been touring the New England circuit for 5 years and will release their 5th record, Karaoke Headliner, on March 5th. Past releases include Recession Special (2009), The Thickness (2008), The Kids'll Love It (2007), and Girth Control (2006). Filled with aggressive group vocals, 80's metal solos, catchy lyrics and blasting drums, Karaoke Headliner promises to be their thickest release to date. THE THICKNESS has played with the Voodoo Glow Skulls, Hot Rod Circuit, New Years Day, toured the US and Canada, and played such festivals as South By Southwest in Austin, TX. The band has been categorized as a throwback to punk influencers NOFX, Bad Religion, and Face To Face. THE THICKNESS blends these ingredients with a dash of Megadeth and a spritz of Bon Jovi to create a delicious cocktail of punk rock comedy. Kickstarter.com campaign "save our tour bus!!"

We just launched a Kickstarter.com fundraising campaign to save our waste-vegetable oil burning tour bus. The bus seats 11 people, has bunk beds, tables, and storage the size of a medium trailer. Developing artists, brands, and a local snowboarding company, all use it to fuel their careers and art forward. The bus has taken bands across the country on tours to SXSW, along the eastern seaboard, and Canada. We're hoping to use the kickstarter.com campaign to raise the funds needed to replace the transmission and get it back on the road in time for this years touring season. We bought the bus from a local hospital and converted the diesel system to run entirely on fly-o-later grease from restaurants and venues. We also use the bus for educational campaigns and community projects. The proves to be a fun, affordable, and earth friendly way to travel. **PIEBALD to release live DVD and documentary**

We are pleased to announce the soon to be released PIEBALD documentary and live concert DVD of the bands last performance. Filmed in Cambridge, MA on April 19th, 2008, “Nobody’s Robots : A Farewell To Piebald”, chronicles the band from their early days leading up to the final show. It is being released mid-spring and features the show in its entirety, hidden features, and 5.1 surround sound for an in-crowd live experience. We will also be releasing the audio tracks of the concert exclusively online. Check back for updates on the release date and other news! PIEBALD will also be playing their 2002 full-length "We Are The Only Friends We Have" start to finish at this years Bamboozle festival, May 2nd, at Giants Stadium parking lot.
